Coach Saylor

Dr. Conway Saylor is delighted to be back this year as head coach of the Wild Dunes Dolphins.

The mother of Maggie Jo Saylor, who is completing her 13th and final year as a WD Dolphin swimmer, Coach Saylor brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the position.

In her “other life” Dr. Saylor is the wife of Dr Bart Saylor, musician and psychologist; mother of  Sara (23), Paul (21) and Maggie Jo (18); and a Professor of Psychology at The Citadel, where she has taught for 15 years.

By training she is a Clinical Child/Pediatric Psychologist. Throughout her undergraduate years at Colorado College and graduate school (PhD) at Virginia Tech, Coach Saylor taught swimming lessons and coached summer league teams in Richmond and Ashland, Virginia.

She returned to her favorite summer past-time from 2000-2005 and saw the Dolphins re-build to a spirited and competitive CCAA team in the Blue and White divisions. She is committed to offering a program where summer swimmers of all ability levels can progress in their skills and be part of a spirited team in a fun and respectful environment.

She is always happy to hear from parents or swimmers but asks that you spare her wonderfully supportive husband and family by using her “Coach” contact info: coachsaylorwd@gmail.com or her Cell phone 270-6232 rather than her home or Citadel.

Coach TaylorTim Taylor is a rising senior at The Citadel, where he is triple majoring in History, Political Science, and Criminal Justice.

During his three years at The Citadel, he has consistently earned Dean’s List and Gold Stars.

Prior to attending The Citadel, he swam competitively for over 13 years.  He swam his last six years in Louisville, KY, where he regularly was a finalist in butterfly and backstroke events at the state meet.

This is his first year coaching with the Wild Dunes Dolphins, and he is greatly excited about working with the kids on the team.  He hopes to help make it their best and most fun season yet.
